BlueScope Steel Mobile Water Units, NSW
The Client
BlueScope Steel Works
BlueScope Steel Works at Port Kembla is the largest steel production facility in Australia and New Zealand. It is one of the lowest-cost producers of steel products.
The company supplies flat steel products such as steel roof sheets used in suburban houses, cars, and containers for food and beverages.
The Client's Need
BlueScope Steel at Port Kembla has an existing demineralised water plant which was inadequate to meet the existing needs.
BlueScope Steel recognised that by leasing the Aquamove units, they were able to achieve a perfect mid-term solution until a new plant became available in 2008.
Veolia's Solution
BlueScope Steel recognised that by leasing Mobile Water units, they were able to achieve a perfect mid-term solution until a new plant became available.
The multi-year lease contract provides water to blower station boilers and consists of 3 Mobile Water units 1000 and 1 Mobile Water unit 500 representing up to 3,500m3/day of treated water, and skid mounted Memcor CMF-S units which are used for pre-treatment. This provided with additional installation, pipe work, mechanical and electrical works.
Based on Reverse Osmosis (RO) technology, the standardised Mobile Water Units are used for water demineralisation and purification. They represent an ideal water solution for industrial or municipal customers facing short-term or mid-term temporary purified water needs.
